More than 8,000 people are expected to attend the Novena at Knock each day following a three-year break.
The pilgrimage will offer nine days of reflection and prayer at the shrine, where ceremonies will take place each day.
There will also be the special candlelight procession, a traditional feature of the Novena at Knock, which takes place following the 8 p.m. ceremony.
Fr. Richard Gibbons, Rector of Knock Shrine, hopes this year's theme will give hope to people travelling to the shrine.
