With warm weather expected for the rest of the week, fresh warnings have been issued to remind people of the dangers of swimming in open water.
Roger Sweeney, CEO of Irish Water Safety, has reiterated the dangers of swimming in our seas, lakes and rivers or any location without lifeguards on duty.
The public is advised to only swim in areas that are known locally as safe.
People are also being warned not be over confident in the water and to know their own limits.
