The Dept. of Agriculture should roll over the existing Glas 3 scheme for 2023 as a transition for farmers who wish to join the new Agri-Environment Scheme.
That's according to Independent TD Sean Canney.
The Galway-East Deputy says there's approximately 12,000 farmers currently on the Glas 3 scheme, some of whom may wish to join the new agri-environment scheme.
By rolling them over onto the new scheme, it would save long application processes for farmers and the chance of missed payments.
