Motorists are advised that the Achill Half Marathon & 10K will take place tomorrow (Sat) on Achill Island and will see a large volume of traffic and people in the area.
The Half Marathon starts at 10.30am and will travel from Keel via Bunnacurry and Dugort. It’s expected that runners will be on the route for 2 to 3 hours, and there will be restricted access for cars for a time around the Keel beach area and the HQ area, as well as the roads in Slievemore and Crumpaun.
The 10K starts at 11.15am and the runners will travel along to the Ballinasally Road. Runners are expected to be on the route for approximately 1 hour.
The organisers apologise for any inconvenience caused and urge everyone to support participants along the routes.
