A new survey has shown the average price of a three bedroom house in Mayo has risen by 2.7% to €189,000 in the last three months with the national average rising by 2.9% to just over €286,500.

That's according to a new national survey by Real Estate Alliance that shows 50% of sales in the county are first time buyers while 25% of buyers came from outside of the county.

Across the county, the average time taken to sell is four weeks.

The highest segment increase in Q2 was in cities outside the capital, which saw a 3.3% rise to an average selling price of €298,750 with commuter counties seeing price increases of 2.3% to just under €312,000.
