There has been no water in Belmullet town since yesterday (Sunday) evening.
According to local councillor Gerry Coyle Irish Water crews have been investigating to find the cause the problem since yesterday evening.
The councillor told Midwest News this morning that the crews have narrowed down the search area for the source of the leak, and are turning the water back on in the town about now ( 8.15am ). The water pressure, however, will be low until the exact location of the leak is established.
Midwest News has contacted both Irish Water and Mayo County Council for comment on the situation, and we are awaiting responses.
