Twelve crews from around the country will compete in today's Three Island Currach Race.

The annual event kicks off at 2pm, and involves a 7 kilometer race around Skerries' three off-shore islands.

This year's race is set to be the biggest yet, with crews from six counties including Mayo, Donegal and Antrim.

Shane Holland is the captain of Currach na Sceirí, he says their boat has a rather famous history.
