The HSE says there are still significant number of over 65s who are yet to receive their booster vaccine.

Health service chiefs are urging everyone who is eligible to get the jab due to the recent increase in the numbers of confirmed cases of COVID-19.

4,702 cases were confirmed on Wednesday, while there were 496 confirmed cases in Irish hospitals as of yesterday morning.

HSE National Lead on Vaccination Damien McCallion says lots of those cases in hospital remain without a vaccine of any kind.
