Gardaí are investigating the discharge of a firearm in Galway on Wednesday night.

The incident occurred in the Bohermore area outside of Galway city.

The incident took place at a residence in Coole Park at approximately 10.30pm on Wednesday last.

A shot was fired at the door of the house.

No injuries were reported.

The scene is currently preserved and a technical examination has been completed by investigating Gardaí.

No arrests have been made and investigations are continuing.

Gardaí in Galway are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed this incident to come forward.

In particular, anyone who was in the area of Coole Park, Forster Court and surrounding roads between 10pm and 11pm and who may have information is asked to come forward.

Any road users with camera footage are asked to make this footage available to investigating Gardaí.
