Mayo county councillors have sought a meeting with the new Chairperson of the Governing Body of the Atlantic Techological University (ATU) in an effort to hear her views on her plans for the Castlebar campus of the new University and to ensure that Mayo has “fair representation” on the Governing Body that covers eight different campuses, across counties Mayo, Galway, Sligo and Donegal.

The Cathaoirleach of Castlebar, Fianna Fail councillor Martin McLoughlin proposed the motion at this week’s monthly meeting of Mayo County Council, and his motion was unanimously supported.
