Swimming at the Point in Westport, a popular swimming location for many along the Quays in Westport, has been banned by Mayo County Council.

A notice was issued by the authority yesterday (Tues)  advising that due to elevated levels of bacteria causing poor water quality a “DO NOT SWIM NOTICE” will be in effect at the Point in Westport until further notice.
