A Mayo Senator has welcomed a new housing development in the County.
Fianna Fail Senator Lisa Chambers today confirmed the approval from Mayo County Council for the development of 22 new houses and apartments in Newport.
The houses are being developed under the Capital Assistance Scheme and the houses will be allocated to people with disabilities, the elderly and homeless. There are currently 2,500 thousand people on waiting lists for homes in the county.
