A 100,000 euro investment has been approved for new footpaths in Headford.
That’s according to local Cllr Mary Hoade, who received confirmation of the move from Galway County Council.
The paths will be located on the Demense and the area where the bottle banks are currently located.
The work currently is to provide new footpath at the bottle banks and to replace defective footpath across the road.
The allocation includes for new Led Public Lighting from Deerpark Woods to the Bank of Ireland and replacing defective lights.
A further 100,000 euro will be allocated at a later date.
Fianna Fail Cllr Mary Hoade has welcomed the allocation in an area she says is used by many pedestrians and cyclists.
Galway County Council will be deciding exact locations after further examination of the area within the speed limits later this year.
