A Mayo dairy farmer has been recognised for dairy farming excellence at the Aurivo Milk Quality Awards
Alan McCormick from Ballina was one of eight milk suppliers who were acknowledged for their contribution to dairy farming at the 15th annual Aurivo Milk Quality Awards.
Alan, who is the fourth generation to run the farm, received the award for Highest Average Milk Solids.
Breeding and genetics, using high EBI for percentage of milk solids, and grass management are a strong focus for the McCormick’s who milk 370 cows on their 195 hectare site.
