Patients presenting at the Emergency Departments of hospitals across the region today are experiencing significant delays.

There are 45 patients on trolleys waiting for admission to University Hospital Galway, that’s the second highest number nationally, according to the latest figures from the INMO Trolley Watch.

There are 33 patients waiting on trolleys for beds at Sligo University Hospital, 15 patients at Portiuncula University Hospital and 11 patients on trolleys at Mayo University Hospital.

Nationally today there are 481 patients on trolleys waiting for admission to hospitals, with highest number gain today at Limerick University Hospital, at 78.
