A 4.9 million euro air service contract has been announced for the Aran Islands.
The deal, which will cater for over 68-thousand air passengers each year, is being seen as a major boost ahead of the summer tourism season.
It comes into effect this Tuesday, and will run for four years - providing a direct service from the mainland to all three islands.
