Mayo Mountain Rescue Team were tasked with two callouts on Croagh Patrick last weekend.

On Sunday, the team were tasked to assist 2 walkers who had sustained injuries in a fall on the summit of the reek at 2pm.

The team were on a training day in the Doo Lough valley and went to assist.

R118, the coast guard helicopter based in Sligo, were also tasked and air lifted both casualties to Mayo University hospital in Castlebar.

The following day, the team were tasked to assist a climber who had ascended Croagh Patrick, but was experiencing difficulty coming back down the mountain at around 1pm.

Fellow walkers helped the casualty descend until they were met by members of the team, who then walked the casualty the rest of the way down.
