Over 70 percent of A-and-E patients are waiting more than six hours to be admitted to hospital, according to a new HSE and HIQA survey.

It comes days after the INMO reported its highest ever trolley figure for a hospital, when 126 patients were waiting for a bed at University Hospital Limerick last Thursday.

The Limerick hospital has the highest number of patients on trolleys again today at 98 - with Sligo University Hospital the second highest, with 41 patients on trolleys, 26 at UHG and 19 at Mayo University Hospital.

Health Minister Stephen Donnelly says the Department and the HSE are creating specific action plans for each hospital's needs.....
