Work on a 3.6 km stretch of N60 Balla to Claremorris Road Realignment works at Heathlawn has now gone out to tender, according to local Fine Gael councillor Cyril Burke and he says it’s hoped that construction will get underway by September.
The coucillor has welcomed the news saying it’s an important step forward for all road users who use the N60 Castlebar to Claremorris road. This already busy section of road, has seen a large increase in traffic flow since the Tuam bypass opened.
In addition, funding has been secured for a feasibility study to continue the walkway/cycleway that will run in conjunction with the road realignement work.
