April 21st was the worst day for overcrowding in any Irish hospital, according to the Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation.

It says 126 patients were without a bed in University Hospital Limerick on that date.

8,717 patients went without a bed this month.

University Hospital Limerick topped the monthly list of overcrowded hospitals, followed by Cork University Hospital and Sligo University Hospital.
