Nearly 41 per cent of adults, who were abused as children, haven't been allocated a social worker.

Tusla says there are 1,566 open cases of 'retrospective abuse' - and 636 haven't been given a social worker.

The worst-affected areas are Dublin South Central, Roscommon/Galway and Donegal.

The chairperson of the Oireachtas children's committee, Kathleen Funchion, says more resources are needed.
