The Taoiseach says there won't be a ban on the use of turf for the remainder of the year.

It comes ahead of tonight's vote on a Sinn Fein motion which is calling for the ban on the sale and distribution of turf to be scrapped.

The Fianna Fail leader dismissed the motion saying it would require the abolition of carbon tax legislation.

Amid heated scenes in the Dail, Micheal Martin said no ban on the use of turf will be coming to effect this year...
