While the number of Covid patients in hospital is falling, there are increasing numbers of patients on trolleys in Emergency Departments.

The number is over 500 today - the Irish Nurses & Midwives Organisation is reporting 508 patients on hospital trolleys nationwide.

Limerick and Cork hospitals are the most overcrowded, while in this region, there are 48 patients on trolleys at Galway University Hospital, 15 at Mayo University Hospital and 28 patients on trolleys at Sligo University Hospital.
