Gardai revealed today that a prosecution is pending in relation to the death of a 45-year-old Latvian national in Castlebar last year.
Inspector Senan Wall told a coroner’s court that directions to prosecute had been received from the DPP in relation to the death of Deniss Prosvimevf at Humbert Way, Castlebar, last March.
The construction worker died at Mayo University Hospital, days after arriving there in a critically injured state.
Subsequently, a man in his 30s was arrested and held for questioning before being later released.
After being given an update by Inspector Wall at the coroner’s court in Swinford today, the Coroner for Mayo, Pat O’Connor, adjourned the inquest into Mr. Prosvimevf’s death to December 19 next.
