Sinn Fein TD Claire Kerrane will bring forward a motion in the Dail later aimed at protecting local employment service jobs from privatisation.
The Roscommon Deputy says there are nine local employment services in Mayo, with job clubs in Foxford and Ballaghaderreen.
The Sinn Fein spokesperson on Social Protection says the Government is seeking to tender out these jobs and move to a payment by results or privatised model.
Deputy Kerrane says the not for profit model of these services currently ensures that the jobseeker is always put first.
An Oireachtas Cross Party Committee published a report that recommends the continuation of the jobs clubs and local employment services in their current form.
Deputy Claire Kerrane told Midwest News that her party’s motion seeks to suspend Government plans to tender out these jobs.
