A 24-hour National Slow Down Day gets underway from 7am tomorrow morning until Friday morning.
Speeding on rural roads is set to be targeted as part of this year's National Slow Down Day.
Gardai and the Road Safety Authority are urging motorists to reduce their speed.
113 people have been killed on Irish roads so far this year, and 4 out of 5 fatalities occurred on rural roads.
The campaign is taking place in the run-up to the October Bank Holiday weekend.
