A Broadband Connection Point (BCP) has gone live at Sooey Community Hall, in county Sligo today.
Sligo Drumcliffe Cllr Thomas Walsh says National Broadband Ireland have today confirmed to him that the connection for fibre broadband has gone live.
The BCP will provide high speed broadband to the Sooey community in advance of homes and businesses receiving future-proofed broadband direct to their doors.
It’s one of ten BCP locations in Sligo.
Cllr Walsh says “today’s connection is an investment of €25,000 in the hall and speeds of up to 150Mb fibre broadband will be available to users of the community hall. It will enable people living in the area to go to the hall and access broadband for a range of uses including remote working, general access and keeping in touch with family and friends".
