€981,000 in funding has been announced for CAMHS services across the region and perinatal services in Galway.
That’s according to the Minister for Disabilities and Fianna Fail TD for Galway East, Anne Rabbitte.
The Department of Health details says an additional €550,000 is being allocated to provide six posts for the Mental Health Intellectual Disability (MHID) team in 2021.
The funding is spread across the CAMHS Regional Service, covering Galway, Mayo and Roscommon and the MHID Adult service in Galway.
This funding is being used to recruit a Psychologist, Clinical Consultant, Social Worker, two clinical nurse specialists and an administrator.
In addition, €431,000 is being provided for the Galway University Hospital Perinatal team, which will see the recruitment of two clinical nurse specialists, a psychologist, social worker, OT and an administrator.
