Four Local Electoral Areas in Mayo have recorded 14-day Covid incidence rates above the national average.
In the two-week period that ended on Monday, Castlebar, Ballina, Westport and Claremorris were all above the national figure of 389 per 100,000 people.
In Castlebar the rate of infection has risen to 610 per 100,000, recording 183 new cases of the virus.
Ballina has a rate of 438 after 110 new cases were detected, Westport's rate stands at 408 after recording 75 new cases, while Claremorris’ rate is 475 representing 129 new cases.
The Swinford and Belmullet districts have ratings below the national average at 295 and 254 per 100,000 respectively.
This equates to 51 new cases in the Swinford area and 32 new cases in the Belmullet area over the two week period.
