Irish Water customers in Louisburgh are advised of possible overnight interruptions to their supply this weekend due to the deterioration in raw water following recent heavy rainfall.
Irish Water and Mayo County Council say intermittent or low pressure may be experienced between 8pm and 8am each night to ensure essential daytime water supply can be maintained.
Irish Water is asking customers in the affected area to be mindful of how they use water.
They are also reminding people with responsibility for properties that are currently unoccupied to check for leaks and turn off water where it is not required.
Gerard Greally, Asset Operation Lead for Irish Water, said, “We understand the inconvenience when a planned outage occurs, and we are working closely with our colleagues in Mayo County Council to ensure there is an uninterrupted supply during daytime hours.
“The situation is being closely monitored and arrangements are being put in place to minimise nightly interruptions.”
