The Minister for Transport has reiterated support for the Western Rail Corridor along with upgrading the N26 road network in Mayo.
That’s according to Independent councillor Mark Duffy, who spoke to Minister Eamon Ryan ahead of the publication of the updated Project Ireland 2040 document next week.
The National Development Plan is currently at the review process and in advance of its release; Cllr Duffy pressed the need for investment in infrastructure across the west.
The Ballina-based councillor claims that the Green Party Leader was very supportive about upgrading the N26 route on both an environmental and safety basis.
