Three local electoral areas in Mayo currently have 14-day incidence rates of Covid-19 above the national average.
Castlebar, Ballina and the Claremorris LEA’s had the highest totals in the county with rates of 574, 554 and 424 per 100,000 population respectively.
This represents 172 infections in the Castlebar area, 139 in Ballina and 115 in the Claremorris LEA over the fortnight.
The country's 14-day incidence rate was just under 390 cases per 100,000 people in the two-week period that ended on Monday.
The remaining LEA’s in Mayo had rates of infection below this average, with 321 per 100k in Westport equaling 59 cases; 318 per 100k in Belmullet amounting to 40 cases; and 307 per 100k in Swinford resulting in 53 new cases of the virus.
