The Taoiseach says talks on the pyrite & mica compensation scheme will be finished by the end of the month.

Homeowners are meeting Department officials today, with further talks with Housing Minister Darragh O'Brien in the coming days.

Campaigners want a 100 per cent redress scheme for those impacted by the faulty building blocks.

Hundreds of homes across Mayo and Donegal are affected, while homeowners in a number of other counties are also coming forward with similar problems.

A demonstration will take place in Ballina this Sunday afternoon in support of the home owners impacted, and amid calls for an improved compensation package.

Speaking in New York, Taoiseach Micheál Martin said it was a complex issue, but the plan will be finalised in the next few weeks,  and will come before Cabinet in October......
