A group of female TDs and Senators will today present a letter to the HSE, demanding that Covid-19 restrictions be lifted in maternity hospitals.
The current restrictions on partners being allowed during labour and a pre-natal appointments vary from one hospital to another - with some units found not to be fully compliant with official guidance.
Mayo Fianna Fail Senator Lisa Chambers will be joined by female politicians from other parties in handing a letter to the HSE, insisting that partners be allowed pre-pandemic access.
