The incidence of Covid-19 per 100,000 of the population over the past two weeks has fallen to 390, according to latest figures.

Earlier this month, the rate was over 450 cases for every 100,000 people.

All of the Connacht counties now have 14-day incidence rates that are less than the national average.

Mayo's 14-day rate is 387 per 100,000 people- just below the national rate of 390 per 100,000.

506 new cases of the virus were recorded in Co Mayo in the past 2 weeks.

Current figures show there are 286 patients being treated for Covid-19 in hospital, with 63 of these in ICU.

In this region, there are currently 13 Covid patients being treated at Galway University Hospital, 7 in Sligo University Hospital and 5 at Mayo University Hospital.

Nationally, over 90% of people aged 16 years and older are now fully vaccinated and almost 87% of those aged 12 years and older have been fully vaccinated.
