210 people in Co Mayo have died from Covid-19 since the start of March 2020.
That's according to new figures released today by the Health Protection Surveillance Centre, which show that Mayo had the 2nd highest mortality rate in the country from the virus - only Monaghan had a higher rate of deaths per 100,000 people.
Since March last year, 210 people in Mayo have died from the disease, with 137 deaths in Co Galway, 53 in Roscommon, 30 in Sligo and 16 in Leitrim.
Monaghan, Donegal and Carlow currently have the highest rates of Covid-19.
The latest data shows that, in this region, Mayo, Leitrim and Roscommon all have 14-day rates higher than the national average.
559 cases of the virus have been confirmed across Co Mayo over the past fortnight.
