As the All Ireland Football Final countdown continues, Midwest News visited Currabaggen NS, Knockmore, a primary school with strong Gaelic football ties, with two past pupils on the present Mayo panel -  Darren McHale and Colm Reape.

On arrival, the students from Junior Infants to sixth were all out in their Mayo colours, and the school yard was full of footballs and young male and female footballers enjoying the sport.

Midwest News Editor Teresa O’Malley began by asking Principal Jimmy Feeney about the strong football tradition in the school and the excitement ahead of Saturday’s big game

The 5th and sixth class students here are all big Mayo supporters and were in full song with the classic “The Green and Red of Mayo”, when Midwest News Editor Teresa O’Malley asked the students about their favourite Mayo footballers

The support for Mayo was strong in Currabaggen NS even among the Junior Infants, again they were all decked out in the green and red.

These 4 and 5 year olds spoke to Teresa about why they were wearing their Mayo jerseys and gave their views on who will take home Sam on Saturday
