334 patients with Covid-19 were being treated in hospitals last night - down 33 on yesterday morning, while the number of patients with the virus in ICU remains unchanged at 59.
There are 26 Covid-positive patients being treated at Sligo University Hospital, 25 at Galway University Hospital and 10 at Mayo University Hospital.
A total of 1,470 new cases of the virus were confirmed yesterday evening.
Meanwhile, the four counties with the highest incidence rates of Covid-19 in the country are all linked to the border with the North.
Monaghan is the worst affected county, followed by Donegal, Cavan, Longford and Leitrim.
Roscommon has the 6th highest rate at present, and Mayo is 8th on the list.
196 new cases of the virus have been confirmed in Roscommon in the past week, with 362 new cases in Mayo.
Both counties have 7-day incidence rates above the national average.
