HSE Community Healthcare West has today responded to a query yesterday from Midwest News about the traffic congestion on McHale Road in Castlebar as people were attending the Covid 19 test centre in McHale Park.
The Chairman of the McHale Road Residents, Philip Redmond explained that at times residents on McHale road cannot get in or out of their own driveways with the build up of traffic into the test centre.
He questioned why the HSE did not space out appointments to ensure that there would be no back –ups. For a period of time yesterday there were large queues of cars waiting to access the test centre.
He also expressed concerned that at quieter times, motorists travelling into the test centre often travel at an unacceptable speed into a residential area.
Today HSE Community West say in a one line response to Midwest News “we are engaging with McHale Road Residents Association in the efforts to find a solution”.
