Funding of €1.7 million has been approved for the Galway-Mayo Institute of Technology.

This is one of a number of grants for third-level institutions announced today by the Minister for Higher Education Simon Harris for the safe reopening of campuses, capital works and building upgrades, and for procuring additional ICT devices, including laptops, to support disadvantaged students who have difficulty accessing a laptop for their studies.

A total of €38 million euro is being allocated, including €2.6 million for NUI Galway, €1.5 million for IT Sligo and €1.78 million from GMIT.
