A Castlebar chef has won his first Michelin award in Singapore.
Andrew Walsh from Breaffy, Castlebar has won the prestigious award for his restaurant CURE which he opened in Singapore six years ago.
Andrew, who's in his late 30's, trained as a chef at GMIT in Galway and has worked with a number of Michelin star chefs, including Kevin Thornton, Richard Corrigan and Jason Atherton.
He's worked in Asia for the past ten years, opening CURE 6 years ago, and has since opened three other restaurants in Singapore - Butcher Boy, Catfish and Club Street Wine Room.
His parents, Andrew and Mary Walsh in Breaffy and his 7 sisters and brothers are today celebrating news of Andrew's first Michelin star.
