Work on the demolition of a disused hotel in Galway is due to get under way, years after plans to knock the building were first mooted.
The former Corrib Great Southern Hotel on the Dublin Road has been vacant for over ten years.
The demolition will take around four months to complete.
The first stage of the process will see fencing erected around the perimeter, before the site is stripped and materials are segregated for disposal.
It is expected that work on knocking the concrete structure will not begin until November.
The building has been targeted by vandals in recent years and has been extensively damaged by a number of fires.
