A Mayo TD has confirmed progress has been made with the resumption of five services from Ballina to Dublin port.

Fine Gael Deputy Alan Dillon says five services per week will resume from Ballina to Dublin port.

Deputy Dillon said While there are restrictions on the number of services that can be handled at Dublin port due to limited capacity,  this is a positive step to secure the continuation of rail freight from the west into the port.

He has been giving more details to Midwest Radio’s Michael D McAndrew.
