A new partnership has been announced between Enniscoe House near Crossmolina and the National Parks & Wildlife Service.
Following a visit to Enniscoe House - which dates back to the 1700's and is known as "the last Great House of North Mayo" - Minister of State for Heritage Malcolm Noonan has announced the establishment of a new Nature Reserve on the estate, and a programme of joint management between the owners - the Kellet family - and the NPWS to provide for the conservation and enhancement of the estate.
Enniscoe House is located at the foot of Nephin and on the shores of Lough Conn, and has been run as a guesthouse since the 1980's.
The house and estate are run by Susan Kellet and her son DJ.
DJ has been telling Midwest Radio's Paula Donnellan this evening about the new partnership with National Parks & Wildlife, and his family's ownership of the estate for many generations
