People in their 30s are set to be able to register for a Covid-19 vaccine next week.

The HSE says it expects registration for 30 to 39 year olds to open online shortly.

Over 3.1 million vaccines have been administered so far - with registration still open for 40 to 69 year olds.

From next week pharmacists are also due to administer vaccines for their first time.

Meanwhile, the lowest number of Covid-19 cases so far this year was recorded yesterday.

There were 259 new cases - which is the lowest since December 12th.

Limerick has the highest 14-day incidence rate in the country, at 449 cases per 100,000 people.

76 patients are currently in hospital with the virus, with 27 in intensive care.
