Homeowners in Mayo and Donegal whose properties have been affected by pyrite damage will be temporarily exempt from paying Local Property Tax.
The Minister for Finance Paschal Donohoe has today published details of the new Local Property Tax rates which see rates being cut and bands widened, while new properties built since 2013 will now be included.
Properties will be revalued every 4 years.
At present, homes valued at up to €100,000 pay €90 in property tax- that charge will now be levied on homes worth up to €200,000.
A charge of €225 currently on homes valued at between €100,000 and €150,000 - that 225 will now be charged on houses valued between €200,000 and €262,500.
