Over €100,000 in funding has been announced for the Palace Grounds in Tuam.
Local Cllr Donagh Killilea says €108,000 will be provided to the amenity under the outdoor infrastructure scheme.
The funding will include upgrade and replacement of park benches, upgrade of bins, new wheelchair and buggy/pram accessible areas, repairs to existing paths, drainage works and new Park signage.
The Tuam MD office already has reports and designs on what the future of the park will look like following a public consultation last year.
It is off the back of these reports the MD area will use the funding to complete this project.
Cllr Killilea told Midwest News that works at the Palace Grounds will start in June and will be completed over the summer months.
