Plans for a major redevelopment of Galway Harbour have been unveiled today.
The plan aims to deliver a sustainable urban quarter in Galway city, providing housing as well as commercial, recreational and cultural facilities along the water's edge.
The plan for the harbour involved 17 acres of land, and the Galway Harbour company say they want to develop the harbour area as a distinctive and vibrant city centre neighbourhood.
Galway Chamber has welcomed the project, saying it will future-proof the docklands as a vibrant urban neighbourhood, and an attractive destination for employment, investment and sustainable urban living.
The Galway Harbour Company has opened a 6-week public consultation on the plans, seeking the views of the public and other stakeholders.
