The HSE will operate two temporary Covid-19 test facilities in county Mayo next week.
A walk-in centre will operate at MacHale Park in Castlebar, alongside the existing referral centre, for seven days from Tuesday.
The facility will be open as a pilot from 10am to 5pm and after a week its use will subsequently be reviewed.
A second pop up centre will open in Ballina from Wednesday until Friday in a bid to tackle a large outbreak in the area.
It will be located at the Ballina Stephenites GAA Ground and opens from 11am until 5pm.
These walk in Covid testing facilities allow people to get tested for the virus without the need for an appointment.
People attending must be over 16, not have symptoms of the virus and have not tested positive in the past six months.
Attendees will be asked to provide photo ID and a mobile phone number.
Fine Gael Deputy Alan Dillon told Midwest News that the enhanced testing facilities will encourage people who may be asymptomatic to get a test.
