The Taoiseach says 50 to 59-year-olds will be able to sign up for a Covid-19 vaccine within the next week.

They'll be able to register on the online portal, and the majority will get a jab in a mass vaccination centre.

Micheál Martin says 1.5 million vaccines have now been administered here - with nearly 30 per cent of adults getting at least one dose.

Dr Denis McCauley, from the Irish Medical Organisation, believes the government can reach its 82 per cent target by the end of June.
